Through the initiative of the CSOs of Baguio headed by Ms. Judith Maranes, CPRAT Co-Chair and CSO Core Group Member for BUB 2016 conducted a City CSO forum on April 14-16, and 18, 2016 at the Baguio City Multipurpose Hall.

The Forum highlighted the BUB 2016 project Comprehensive Livelihood Program composed of the following components:  Values Formation by DSWD worth P 1.3M;   Capacity Building to be implemented by TESDA worth P 4M;  Livelihood Opportunities to be implemented by DOLE worth P 10.8 M;  Construction of a Livelihood Development Center to be implemented by the City Government worth P 3.9M; and Yamang Pinoy training on product quality and safety worth P 700,000.  

Capacity building by TESDA include dressmaking NC II, tailoring NC II, hilot (wellness massage) NC II, Automotive NC I Perform Diesel Gas/Engine Tune Up, and Service Engine.  Livelihood Opportunities by DOLE includes Community Enterprise Development and Skills Training on Beauty Care, Community Enterprise Development and Skills Training on Computer shop and Printing services, Community Enterprise on Knitting, Community Enterprise on Weaving, Community Enterprise on Baking, and Community Enterprise on the procurement of seeding production materials.

Participants were advised to signify their intent to participate in the trainings offered. The trainings will start immediately as long as the list of beneficiaries has been finalized by the CSO Core group.

The activity also served as an avenue for the CSOs and Pantawid beneficiaries to share their experiences on the Pantawid Program and the BUB process and express issues and concerns in order to identify immediate solutions.

The CCT Bill otherwise known as the Batas Pantawid was presented by the DSWD while DILG - Baguio City Director Evelyn B. Trinidad discussed the Barangay BUB. The forum culminated with the signing of the commitment to the Batas Pantawid and BUB coalition.# Sherwin Ray O. Daep, DILG Baguio
