TINEG, Abra – The Department of the Interior and Local Government led the inauguration and turnover of a solar powered potable water system as part of its efforts to implement water supply projects in remote  municipalities in the province.

The project is part of the Sagana At Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat(Salintubig) program in this town.

DILG Regional Director Marlo Iringan told the people of Tineg that the government is seriously in the implementation of such project for public welfare. He appealed to them to take care of the project so that it will benefit them for a long time.

In Peñarrubia, Iringan with DILG Abra Director Millicent Cariño spearheaded the inauguration and turnover of a potable water system under the Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB) 2016. The project, powered by solar energy, would benefit barangays   Malamsit, Tattawa, and Namarabar.

Also part of the BUB 2016 project is the rehabilitation of level II water supply at barangays Sta. Rosa, Poblacion, and Dumayco.

“It is more than just a project. It means life,” Iringan said as he congratulated the Peñarrubia  municipal government in making the project possible.  This, he said, will help improve the lives of people.

“It is not only a human need. More than that, it is a human right,” Cariño said.

She asked the people of Peñarrubia to take care of the project as it will give them access to affordable, safe, and clean water for a long period of time.

Iringan and Cariño likewise turned over farm to market road under the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) 2016 in Peñarrubia. The project involved concreting of farm-to-market road and the construction of spillway and stone masonry at Barangay Namarabar.

Tineg Mayor Corinthia Crisologo and Peñarrubia Mayor Jane Cecilia led the officials and the people in thanking the government for the projects reaching their communities.
