RD Iringan spearheaded the conduct of the Newly-Elected Officials' Orientation Program for LMP-Benguet Chapter

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE – DILG CAR headed by RD Marlo L. Iringan spearheaded, in coordination with the Local Government Academy (LGA) and the League of Municipalities of the Philippines – Benguet Chapter, the conduct of the Newly Elected Officials’ Orientation Program: Leaders for Effective and Efficient Governance at the Segara Hotels on August 20-23, 2019 attended by 134 participants composed of newly elected and re-elected city and municipal leaders and some local functionaries and Sangguniang Bayan Members in the Cordillera. DILG Sec. Eduardo M. Año was represented by Undersecretary for Local Government Marivel C. Sacendoncillo during the event, who was also able to present the Contextualization of EO 70 for National Peace Framework and Situationer. Various topics were also discussed such as the Role of Leaders in Advancing the Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy presented by Dangerous Drugs Board Secretary Catalino S. Cuy. Other dignitaries who graced the event were Maj. Mark Anthony U. Ruby, Dir. Anna Liza F. Bonagua, Atty. Odilon L. Pasaraba and other distinguished guests who contributed to the success of the activity. ARD Araceli A. San Jose together with Division Chiefs Daisy A. Payang and Marleen M. Guerzon, LGOO V Ralph Kevin B. Brett, Provincial Directors and staff provided continuous support and logistics for the participants. The participants were also given the opportunity to collaborate with and received direct legal advises from Atty. Romeo P. Benitez of the DILG Legal and Legislative Liaison Services. Talkshops were also included which gave the oversight agency representatives and DILG interior sector to provide updates and responses to all the local officials’ queries. Indeed, the three-day activity was a success!
